The Saxon air of Sanpetru

Sanpetru district is located at Brasov city limits, on the foot of Lempes protected area. Both history and nature confer the settlement a mysterious air.

The Citadel’s Hill- Lempes - 8 km distant from Brasov – spreads at the north-western side of the Harman, near Sanpetru commune, on a 274,52 ha area, with a maximal altitude of 720 m.

Funds to rehabilitate the History
The County Council’s president, Aristotel Cancescu, following a visit in the commune, revealed the strategy to access funds to rehabilitate the Saxon fortresses of the county, including the Sanpetru’s one. The citadels of Cristian, Cata, Soars, Racos, Homorod and Sanpetru will be reinserted into the touring circuit. Similar procedures will be implemented for the castles and the 935 historical monuments of the county.

Besides the Lempes scientific serve, Sanpetru commune also boast a pheasantry owned by „Transylvania” University of Brasov, Faculty of Forestry.
